Requirements

Obviously, KMix is only of use if you have a soundcard. KMix supports several platforms and sound drivers:

All Open Sound System platforms. Explicitly tested are Linux®, FreeBSD, NetBSD and BSDI.
Solaris™ based machines.
The ALSA soundcard driver.
