The hands look fairly good, but the one on the left 
seems to be posed a little awkwardly (middle and index 
fingers at an odd angle), and they also seem too long 
and thin to suggest a child's hand.  More texture details 
(imperfections, etc.) on the walls and table may have 
created a more realisic looking image.  However, from 
an artistic standpoint, I feel it may have been better to 
leave these out, as well as leave the vase as a perfect 
lathe object, since this would have emphasized the 
contrast between the order and impending chaos.

Pros: notable modelling effort. About the "on-topic vs off-topic" issue, let's say it's a nice stretch. 
Cons: I'm uncomfortable with this pic as a whole. Maybe it's the composition, maybe it's the B/W setting with colorful flower and hands...
