A better idea is a steaming teacup aboard a boat being affected by the waves.

From pbourke@swin.edu.au:
Great idea but needs work. How about lower wave amplitude,
more interesting room.

That is an expression that is not easy to visualize.
Computers are the best way to do it!

From marlo.steed@uleth.ca:
Nice concept. water in the tea cup needed some work.

Don't be too hard on yourself. The teacup and storm clouds look pretty good.

From bbowen@cswnet.com:
Great concept. The water texture looks fine to me. That's bound to be one good cup of tea!

Very creative idea :-) Don't be so hard on yourself. I think too much
detail in the background would take away from the focus of the picture.
An artist is always his/her worst critic. Good job!

I find the cup pretty cool, but as you say the rest is not up to it.
Very interesting interpetation of the theme.

From jrcsurvey@aol.com:
Thought it was "tempest in a teacup" Sly use of the fractal. It is a nicel=
y
modelled teacup. And the "clouds" are strangely effective as teacup "cloud=
s".

From StephenF@whoever.com:
Interesting concept. The teacup and saucer look very
good. The clouds look nice, too... a real sense of
fluffiness to them, although the containing spheres show
in some spots. I think a different texture would help the
water in the cup. The wood texture probably doesn't
look bad from a distance, but given the amount of the
scene it takes up, I think it could use some work to
make it look better.

From sjlen@ndirect.co.uk:
Love the cup, and the idea in general, you're the only one who thought of
this. The render time seems a bit over the top for such an image. The
clouds could do with having a darker patch towards the bottom making them
look full and ready to burst. And all the other bits you already know
about.

It made me laugh. Thanks!
