Interesting view...

From d97ta@efd.lth.se:
the soil might want to be a bit more grainy,
and the wood texture is too regular.
the dmfwood series (am i right?) does not do very well on large objects.
the t_wood (new with povray3) series is much better, imho.

From marc_w@ncx.com:
the grass looks to uniform for me, but nice picture.

From buck@cs.byu.edu:
Nice idea. The grasses look good, though the lawn seems kind of sparse.

You might consider adding some kind of bump map or other normal
perturbation to the fence--it looks too "perfect."

From jaime@ctav.es:
Nice point of view.

From djconnel@flash.net:
Nice idea, but all the blades look identical , and the fence
could use a lot more character. There aren't many elements in
the scene, but with a bit more work, it could be quite
effective.

If the sprinkler was on I'd be really impressed.

From ethelm@bigfoot.com:
Unusual image but puzzling without text. Boards look a bit like
corragated iron.

From fisher2@pobox.upenn.edu:
The wood on the fence is too regular. Purhaps a little bit of turbulance?
The blades of grass are really nice!

From arcana@sinbad.net:
The difficulty when doing a scene where the camera is very close to objects is
that the tiny details, or lack thereof, show up. The grass needs more detail in
that the veining of the blades, and a small degree of semi-transparency would
be indicated. Also, the wood should show small surface details and
wear-and-tear. But, it's a great image nonetheless. :{)

From gmccarter@hotmail.com:
Very hard to understand until you read the text file. For example, I was
clueless what the black thing was.
Can you make the blades much thinner, and clump them together to form small
patches? You shouldn't need a perl program to randomly place objects, POV-Ray
can do this easily.

From r@199.45.245.103:
the blades of grass are very good. I do think they ought to be either more
numerous, or placed less regularly- clumps of grass in some places, etc. The
fence and sprinkler textures are a touch simplistic. I really like the camera
placement.
Notable for composition
