I liked the idea.  The problem is that it might generate misconceptions about
how eletricity actually works - something physical doesn't actually move
through the wires.  The style of your animation is rather simplistic but does
suite what you are trying to communicate.  However a bit more realism would
have been nice (e.g. brick wall and door, etc.).

JV:  The use of a height_field is pretty apparent in some shots (very
unnatural-looking in the close-ups).  In some shots the motion of the spark is
rather difficult to follow.  Camera motion has too many sudden starts and
stops, which makes motion a bit hard to follow.

This is a great animation but it suffers from really bad camera movement. It
feels so artifical to have cameras suddenly change direction or stop, because
in the real world it's impossible to stop something instantly. It makes me feel
quite motion-sick. You say in the description that you placed a series of
points for the camera to move through, so with a bit of work you could probably
make them into a spline and move the camera smoothly along that without ever
suddenly stopping.

But, that aside, this is a very good animation. I'm amazed it was all in one
scene. The concept is excellent, and the idea of representing electricity in a
cartoon-like flash moving along the wire is great.

Just one thing puzzles me: the modelling on most things is very good, like the
pylons, the truck, the house, and all the wires; so why are some things so much
more basic? Like the yellow bricks with black mortar, or the very thick door
into the generator room. It's almost as if the scene was built by two different
people with different levels of experience at using povray.

An original interpretation of a journey.  Just a few possible 
improvements.  The ground texture just doesn't look as good 
close up.  All the other textures appear to be simple and fit 
the style of the animation.  I'm also a bit disappointed with the
camera.  Once the spark leaves the dam the camera jumps way ahead
of the sparks and just sort of sits there.  I think it would have
made things much more interesting to have the camera moving
alongside the spark.  But those are just minor gripes.  Overall
I thought it was well done.

Like a school instructional video.  The water seemed cementlike.  The
mountains were way too sharp and thin.  I liked the way the shed light
faded on.  The journey proper went by too fast.  The work on the pylons was
very good.
