Short: Amiga<->Mac transfer via AccessPC(R) Architecture: m68k-amigaos » » » APCNames - AccessPC renaming utility « « « version 1.2a (04/01/94) *************************************************************** Disclaimer This program is Freeware. You may freely distribute this archive, as long as this notice and the documentation is kept together with the executable. The author takes no responsibility for any damage caused directly or indirectly by the usage of this program. What does APCNames ? APCNames is a useful utility for people who use PC disks to interchange files between Amiga (with CrossDOS) and Macintosh (with AccessPC®). It implements a slightly modified (debugged ?) version of the file mapping algorithm used by AccessPC to map the long Mac file names to short MS-DOS file names. By that means APCNames lets you reconstruct the original file names on the Amiga. As APCNames is written in ANSI-C, it might be useful also for UN*X users. The source is included in the archive. What's new in this version ? v1.1: As I got bored of the "hardwired" type & creator mapping of the former versions, I decided to make it configurable. This version of APCNames allows you to specify for which extension which type & creator information is created. See the documentation for more details. v1.2: In former versions APCNames did nonsense when encoding more than 2 files with the same 8 starting characters and same extension. In some cases it even crashed. The encoding of file names was complete rewritten and should work for up to 38 files with the same 8 starting characters and same extension. v1.2a: For you Unix users out there this archive includes the sources of a version of APCNames running on Unix, which should compile with GCC properly. I use this version on SunOS. Look into the docs for additional options. *************************************************************** If you find any bugs or you have any idea how to improve this program, then contact me: /// Rainer Koppler /// Stelzhamerstraße 9 \\\ /// A-4623 Gunskirchen \\X// Austria/Europe internet: rk@gup.uni-linz.ac.at (Please don't mail to "rainer@soft.uni-linz.ac.at" any more !!!)
