Short: Send messages to mobile phones Author: davehaigh@hotmail.com Uploader: davehaigh hotmail com Type: comm/misc Version: 2.06.A Requires: AmigaDOS 2.04+ Architecture: m68k-amigaos SMSMaster This program is for sending Short Messages to mobile phones of 160 Characters. The original SMSMaster program was only for the PeeCee and is now going through a complete rewrite to take full advantage of the Windoze 95 32bit architecture. After numerous emails asking for a port of the PeeCee version I decided to write my new version for the Amiga. To send a message, you need to know the message, the mobile phone number to send the message to, and the Network Operator of that mobile phone. Ideally, you should not need to know the Network Operator, but the UK operators currently do not allow SMS messages to be passed between UK networks. This has the unfortunate effect that, for example, a Cellnet subscriber cannot send an SMS message to a Vodafone subscriber, without resorting to using an SMSC other than that provided by Cellnet. Whilst the Network Operators continue to fail to provide full connectivity, you will need to know which network a phone is connected to, to ensure successful routing of the message. To make life easier, SMSMaster includes a database of UK phone numbers and Network Operators, to automatically route the SMS message to the correct network. Currently this software only works with Cellnet and Vodafone numbers and within the UK. To use this software a minimum of 4Mb of ram should be used and WB3. ============================= Archive contents ============================= Original Packed Ratio Date Time Name -------- ------- ----- --------- -------- ------------- 287220 100039 65.1% 28-Jan-98 10:08:02 SMSMaster 16534 6572 60.2% 03-Feb-98 22:35:50 SMSMaster.guide 658 311 52.7% 11-Jan_98 21:55:04 SMSMaster.guide.info 649 274 57.7% 11-Jan-98 21:31:26 SMSMaster.info -------- ------- ----- --------- -------- 305061 107196 64.8% 03-Feb-98 22:42:38 4 files
