JPGFILE: tubes.jpg ZIPFILE: tubes.zip RENDERER USED: Megapov 1.2 Linux i386 TOOLS USED: Vim, The Gimp RENDER TIME: 2h 19m 42s HARDWARE USED: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2400+ with 1GB Memory JPGFILE: tubes.jpg ZIPFILE: tubes.zip IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Minimalism, simplicity and beauty of glass, bubbles and photons. Glass is perfect for minimalism. It's clear and pure but light can make a simple shape look like very complex. This is why we all love glass, water, crystal... DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Objects are just CSG of cylinder and two scaled spheres. A loop choose for each object 4000 random location. "inside" function is used to test if a small sphere can stand inside of tube (6 positions tested). Megapov is not needed to render this scene. None of the capabilities of this special version is used here. It's just my only version of POV-Ray. The only difficulty here is for media inside the object. The gradient map was exported from Gimp gradient tool in POV-Ray format. Radiosity just add very littles effects and is not critical at all but photons are. Of course, loop code can be optimized and factiorized in one macro. I will do that... one day.
