IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
Every year in France and specially in Paris, there is nobody during august period. Activities slow down, many shops are closed and a lot of people are on holiday. In other words, it is a desert.

"This sunday morning I visited Martine. It was very early, so I've decided to bring her some buttered croissants.
( Ooh damned, nobody for helping me to translate the rest of my text, it's a real desert !! )

A mon arrivée elle était en train de se faire du café et regardait des diapositives de son dernier voyage dans le sud-tunisien. Elle me confia qu'elle avait eu du mal a dormir cette nuit a cause de la chaleur ce qui expliquait son réveil matinal.
On bavardait de tout et de rien dans un demi-sommeil. Après quelques banalités, je lui annonçais mon intention de participer encore une fois au concours de l'IRTC sans toutefois avoir beaucoup d'idée sur ce que je comptais présenter.
On marmonna à tour de rôle encore quelques mots, puis surgissant brutalement de sa somnolence elle me lança fièrement :
" - Je la tiens ton idée !"
Elle se leva et écrivit au marker directement sur ce qu'elle nommait affectueusement son mur des lamentations ces quelques mots : " Paris désert - Ce 15 août, Paris est enfin désert ".
En revenant s'asseoir, elle sortit de nullepart une image représentant un aquarium boule et proclama :
" - Mais moi aussi je participe a ton fichu concours ! " et elle partit dans un de ses fameux éclats de rire qui fait son charme et qui finit presque toujours par une grimace de petite fille espiègle. "
