===== From skipt1@aol.com: On topic but a little too simple. The camera is well placed but how about some footprints or some sort of object? ===== From rgow@lanset.com: While I like minimalism, that's a little too minimal for my tastes... ===== From hawatino2010@yahoo.com: what r u doing ? ===== From i-mcnamara@cornellcollege.edu: One of the simplest pictures I've seen yet, but I don't mean that in a bad way. The lack of anything but sand and sun helps to stress the emptiness of the conventional desert. The sand texture is pretty good, but could look a bit grainier, especially in the area with all that specular lighting. The sun flair looks pretty good as well. Please leave some more descriptions in the future, I've found that they are very helpful when it comes to understanding what the artist meant to show in their work (and how they did it). ===== From jacoons@ameritech.net: Sorry for the negative comments, but this is the type of image I expected to see most in this contest. Nothing here to critique - no notes, sky, weeds, technique, explanation or anything. ===== From ericf@foothill.net: The lensflare is a nice touch, but just isn't enough to hold my interest. Even wastelands have something going on, even if only a little more geography than is seen here. Maybe dunes in the distance, or something. The sand in the foreground is too reflective, making it look plastic, although the more distant terrain looks good. ===== From darwallace@earthlink.net: Only the Sahara is this empty, and even it has high dunes and hills. ===== From file: what is this ? Notable for composition, textures, originality, lighting, modelling ===== From file: good for back ground Notable for composition ===== From file: A beautifully simple interpretation. The things I would point out: The sand is shiny--it has some specular reflection of the sun. The dunes are all the same height. Most dunes form rolling consecutively higher and higher before caping off and dropping again..
