RENDERER USED: 3dsmax Default Scanline TOOLS USED: 3dsmax 5, Shag:hair Illustrator, Photoshop RENDER TIME: 19min :37s HARDWARE USED: Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz HT, 1Gb RAM dual DDR 400, nVidia QUADRO FX 500 IMAGE DESCRIPTION: For Idea concept I mixed some elements of past cultures like Roman Empire and Greek Mythology and a bit of traditional RPG elements, Dungeons and so on. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: All the modelling job was done in 3dsmax, then I ajusted the lights and textures I was trying to extract the best from the default scanline because itīs pretty fast, so I spent a lot of time on configuration of lights and rendering tests. I used also Shag:Hair for the feather of the captainīs helmelt and reactor cloth for his cloth,. I used Illustrator to make the shield bump map and Volumetric Light for the blue fog up the monster. for Post correction I used a bit of contrast to improve a little bit the dramatic effect and to add the credits text. Ah, I resized the image to fit 250k requirements to enter the competition, original size is 5183x3965. Thatīs it. :)
