IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
Imagine a future so advanced that buildings on the surface are non existant. All raw materials have been used, and the earth must wait to be reborn. Cities are reduced to underground tunnels, and people more in tune with nature. The arts of ancient magic long forgotten are reborn. The fastest way of transportation is a series of portal shrines, called Gaia Portals, built all around the world. Used to be transported underground, or elsewhere on the planet. The future of earth... is unkown.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:
First I started with basic shapes, then got the idea for a shrine of some sort. I felt that futuristic buildings would be too common for this sort of project, and wanted more diversity. After numerous attempts at the pillars and shapes, i was happy. 

I went into Bryce to render it, after trying a few textures I felt that a snowy mountain terrain would be most appropriate. Anyway, the mountains are just bryce defaults that I edited after an hour of work. =P
