He, who was an important man in the past, now is only an old man watching how quick the time goes by. And you know time doesn't forgive anyone. Before he goes to sleep, he has to leave his cane next to him, take off his teeth, glasses and wig and take a pill to be able to remember tomorrow who is he. Now he is switching off the light to sleep wondering if tomorrow will be another day or the end of his days. Decay, decay... it is waiting for all of us (and catching some). Txemi Jendrix DESCRIPTION OF HOW THE IMAGE WAS CREATED: The hand is a poser model. The wig is the bobhair made by Studio Maya (a poser hair). Both were converted to inc/udo with Poseray. The teeth were made by Patason Brooks, I used them to make the false teeth. They were in Animation Master format and were imported in hamapatch to make the false teeth. You can get the links in the credits section. All the other objects and textures were made by me. Modelling: The table, the lamp and the wall are CSG objects made in Moray. The cane was also made enterely in Moray using the mesh editor. All the other objects were done in Hamapatch, imported in Moray and converted to mesh2 objects. Texturing: The textures are mostly image maps UV mapped on the objects using only Moray. There are also procedural textures: The wood of the table, the texture of the lamp (the lampshade is filled with media using a method explained by Gilles Tran in his salon lamp pov file available at his site). The man in the photograph is my great-grandfather. Lightning: There is only an arealight in the light bulb and the light emitted by the media contained in the lampshade. I've tried to use photons, but I hadn't enough memory to render it, so I finally had to forget about it. The scene was rendered using antialiasing 0.1. I used The Gimp to create and (in some cases) edit the image maps, and also to add the title and the signature, to adjust the brightness and contrast and to convert from png to jpg. DESCRIPCION DE LA IMAGEN: El tiempo sigue. El, que era un hombre importante en el pasado, ahora es solo un viejo contemplando cuan rapido se va el tiempo. Y ya sabeis que el tiempo no perdona a nadie. Antes de irse a dormir, tiene que dejar su baston cerca, quitarse los dientes, las gafas y la peluca y tomar una pastilla para ser capaz de recordar maniana quien es. Ahora esta apagando la luz para dormir preguntandose si maniana sera otro dia o sera el final de sus dias. Decadencia, decadencia... nos esta esperando a todos (y atrapando a algunos). Txemi Jendrix. DESCRIPCION DE COMO SE CREO LA IMAGEN: La mano es un modelo de Poser. La peluca es el bobhair creado por Studio Maya (tambien para Poser). Ambos fueron convertidos de .obj a inc/udo con Poseray. Los dientes fueron creados por Patason Brooks, y los utilice para hacer la dentadura postiza. Estaban en formato .mdl (Animation Master) y se importaron a Hamapatch para crear la dentadura postiza. Los enlaces estan en la seccion de creditos. El resto de los objetos y texturas han sido creadas por mi. Modelado: La mesilla, la lampara y la pared son objetos CSG creados en Moray. El baston tambien se realizo completamente en Moray utilizando el editor de mallas. El resto de los objetos se crearon en Hamapatch, se importaron en Moray y se convirtieron en objetos mesh2. Texturado: Las texturas son casi todas mapas de bits con mapeado UV usando solo Moray. Tambien hay texturas procedurales: la madera de la mesilla, la textura de la lampara (la tulipa esta rellenada de media utilizando un metodo explicado por Gilles Tran en el archivo pov Lampara de Salon disponible en su sitio). El hombre de la fotografia es mi bisabuelo (quien se lo iba a decir a el cuando posaba para la foto, que acabaria en internet). Iluminacion: Solo hay una arealight en la bombilla y la luz emitida por el media contenido en la tulipa de la lampara. He intentado utilizar fotones, pero no tenia suficiente memoria para hacer el render, asi que al final me tuve que olvidar de ello. La escena se renderizo utilizando antialiasing 0.1. Utilice El Gimp para aniadir el titulo y la firma, crear y editar (en su caso) los mapas de imagen, ajustar el brillo y contraste y convertir de png a jpg. Txemi Jendrix 2003.
