TITLE: Las Vegas 2100 COUNTRY: USA WEBPAGE: no RENDERER USED: Raydream Studio 5.5 raytracer TOOLS USED:Raydream Studio 5.5 and Micrografix Picture Publisher RENDER TIME: about 16 hours HARDWARE USED: PENTIUM III 384 MEG RAM - HP PAVILION IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Las Vegas - Towards the end of the 20th century the architects of the latest casinos turned away from using signs like the old Sands and Riviera Casinos of the 50's and used the building itself as a recognizable symbol, the Roman Forum. Eiffel Tower, Great Pyramid and so on. By the end of the 21st Century there were no signs, but electronic advertising over the air waves to the radios of vast swarms of personal transport air vehicles that no longer collided thanks to the latest in infrared technology. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: I used supermesh to develop some of the more complicated buildings and parking garages. Most of the other buildings and PTAV's are built from CSG construction. It was a easy 10 minute render until I added 4 more light sources other than the setting sun, 2 yellow, 1 blue and 1 red. Then it took 16 hours to render. I think I captured a bit of the feel of Las Vegas just as the sun is setting and the millions of lights begin to turn on.
