Ofcourse as we are very curious people we decided to take a visit to that place. And so we did. There were alot of different stuff in there, but one place that left in my mind for that long time was the one electric box or shield or whatever you prefer to call it. The room was dark, and light was coming in from very dirty glass. It was a fabulous sight, I am still sad that I didn't had the chance to photograph it. So here is the raytraced version of the thing. Ok, it's not really something you guys meant under the "old technology", but it is old (the factory has been standing there without any use for about two decades) and it is technology of a kind. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Nothing special really, everyone could manage doing that thing. To think of that it is even too simple to be posted here, but I have seen many much-much worse submissions over the years, so I thought why not. Anyway there is a Round_Box() macro in POV-Ray standard include files it generates couple of boxes rounder with cylinders and spheres. Very useful thing if you are too lazy to write all of them yourself. I used this one to create the box and it's door. The little hole where the color has come off on the door is made with a heightfield. Just a simple CSG difference. The room itself is a hollow box, and the window is a clipped_by inversed box. Frames are added by simple primitives. Light comes from pointlight what is standing outside the box. Everything else are very simple primitives like cylinders, boxes, cones and so on or simple CSG's.
