TITLE: In Deep Trouble COUNTRY: United Kingdom WEBPAGE: None RENDERER USED: POV-Ray 3.5 TOOLS USED: Poser 4, PoseRay 2.6.4.188, SpilinEditor 1.2 RENDER TIME: 25 hours 44 minutes 36 seconds HARDWARE USED: Pentium 3 500 MHz IMAGE DESCRIPTION: This image can be interpreted as a frozen moment in many different ways. The breaking glass of the kitchen window, the suspended football and precarious frying pan; the falling drinks glass about to break, emptying its contents on its descent, and maybe most of all the frozen fear on the little boy's face, knowing the trouble that he is in for what he has done. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The layout of the kitchen and garden is based upon that of my own house. Following is a short description of how each object was created. Basic room object - CSG created with some building macros that I wrote. Window and door - CSG. The macros are actually capable of swinging the windows and doors open on their hinges, although I chose not to use these features after I had written them. Ceiling light - More CSG. Boy and Man - Poser objects exported through PoseRay and the materials hand-tweaked. Washing machine, Cooker, Cooker hood and hob, fridge - More CSG. The cooker hood also contains an area light source. Kettle - A spline exported from SpilinEditor and hand-tweaked, binded with some CSG for the handle, spout, base, and level meter. Toaster, chopping board, knife rack - More CSG. Football - A union of an icosahedron and a dodecahedron, maths and base object courtesy of Ben Weston. Sink, plug sockets - CSG. Frying pan - CSG with a lathe object. Grass - Courtesy of the MakeGrass macros by Gilles Tran. Cupboards - More CSG. Garden plants and kitchen plant - Courtesy of the SplineTree macros by Andrew Clinton. Plant pot - A lathe object with some blobs for the soil. Drinks glass and orange juice - A lathe object for the glass, and blobs for the juice. Brick wall - CSG using some clever texturing based on a technique that I found somewhere on the internet, although I have lost the name of the source, so if anyone recognises the technique as their own, then apologies for not naming you here. Gas burner flame and pan fire flame - Emissive media. Broken glass - A particle system built by myself for this project. Full collisions with the room and final positions of each particle are calculated prior to rendering the image.
