===== From tek@evilsuperbrain.com: Terrible image, really bad. ;) (for anyone other than graham who's reading this, I should point out that he's a friend of mine!) Serious comments: it still looks rather grey, and the fragments of glass don't look like they've moved very realistically, plus they don't catch the light. Otherwise the picture is really good! ===== From rgow@lanset.com: Good modeling! Skin texture on the Poser figures needs work. (I usually find I have to add a lot of red to look natural) ===== From ggargett@attbi.com: Nice detailing and modeling. Sky looks awfully grey for such a sunny day. ===== From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com: Maybe a little bit too bright, but otherwise a well put together scene. ===== From the_dark_allies@hotmail.com: A nicely modeled kitchen. Good lighting, textures, etc. However, is the sky supposed to be just white? ===== From N6re@mminternet.com: Perhaps the damage isn't over yet! ===== From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de: Quite nice modelling; a few technical points: - Use a lower ambient light setting to avoid the "flat" look. - the bump map on the tiles on the kitchen wall looks a bit too strong. ===== From david.madore@ens.fr: Minute care has been paid to all sorts of details: this is really nice. Still, something in the image shouts too loudly "this is raytracing", and this spoils part of the fun. But this remains a very nice picture. ===== From clem@dhol.org: Nice idea. More story than the many generic object through window images in this round. The concatenation of disaster idea sounds good, but in practice I think it robbed the image of focus. I think that the key to the image is the hapless kid who broke the window. Between the distant camera, the large open area and the multiple action areas he is hard to see and easy to overlook. At first viewing I missed him completely. The breaking of the windo itself is also hard to make out. More generally, all of the active areas suffer from diminution and loss of detail because of the large waste space. This is a pretty good image, though in spite of that. ===== From p_chan@shaw.ca: Excellent scene in terms of detail and variety of objects. The textures for the cupboards and appliances do a have an artificial, "raytraced" feel to them. One thing I find somewhat awkward about the scene is that the glass fragments cast strong shadows in the bright spot of light from the sun shining through the window. ===== From batronyx@alliancecable.net: The boy's body language speaks more than his face. Great topic idea. ===== From slone@hiwaay.net: The objects on the countertop look great, especially the flower pot (and soil/plant). The Poser faces seem a bit washed out. ===== From r@jerkweed.kiva.net: I didn't see the broken glass, soccer ball and boy outside until after I read your txt file. My focus was immediately on the man burning dinner or whatever. I thought he had spilled something or a fire was starting.
