This tree like a mountain, and two roots make a canyon. To sign on the scale of this elements of the scene I make small village, river and the bridge, Magic atmosphere transfer with turbulenced ground fog, and fog above the river. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: All objects except houses, windmill, bridge and grass were made with HamaPatch as spline patches and then imported to POV-Ray. Giant tree and hills was formed with simple extruding of the splines. Houses and windmill are simple CSG objects. Grass was make as cones (about 50000), randomly placed on the terrain. For growing the grass and controlling it's height I've use spline patch with dimensions similar to all terrain. For make up the bridge, I've used splines to, but only for placing each part of the bridge. Focal blur and radiocity was used to make image more realistic (especialy grass at fron plan).
