DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: I really dig the POV-Style of programming/scripting a scene, and thus, no external modeller was used... It began with a note and a glass, and step by step I added water, waterdroplets, made the note wrinkled (thanks to those function-heightfields), added a pillbox, some pills, the lid. The pen came last, being modelled after one I own (but simplified at a few places to match the actual object to my modelling skills). Since there had been a discussion about the note, I want to add that the wrinkles aren't entirely based on the idea that the writer really trashed the note a few times before actually using it. It should also convey the idea that he is in distress, messed up (which is also shown with the few spilled pills, the open pen, the splotch of ink on the note...). To add some realistic taste (although it might be unnoticeable), ambient_light was set 0, and then calculated with radiosity. For those unfamiliar to POV-Ray: When ambient_light is set to 0, shadows are 100% shadow/black. Normally, this is lightened up a bit to simulate ambient light (hence the name), but when using radiosity, you (should) get more realistic results. Requires some more patience though. Another touch are the photons and arealights for soft shadows and nice caustics (especially visible in the glass, not so much for the reflection of light on the golden parts of the pen or the refraction/reflection of the pillbox AND the lid). Except for the image-maps required for the note and the little company-mark on the cap of the pen (not really noticeable with this scale, but added for future uses and realism), and the font required for the artist's-imprint (a text-object), no external files or programs are required.
