===== From henry@unforgettable.com: very cartoon-like: I don't know if that was the idea or not. looks like the place where elmer fudd might live... ===== From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com: A very pretty and cozy picture. ===== From arte3d@luisvaloyes.uni.cc: I think that you should work with your textures a little more, those simple shapes would look better with some normals, because the trees look way better than the rest of the scene ===== From darwallace@earthlink.net: It would be a good idea to learn about pattern displacement isosurfaces for logs, snow, etc. ===== From awilcox@dreampeach.com: This would be a good style for a children's book. ===== From bfranke2@attbi.com: Yes, those are fall leaves, very nice. For improvement more attention to scale is needed. Try to work with real world dimensions. The mountains should be larger and further away. The trees should not be able to cast shadows on the background mountains. ===== From dapigg2000@yahoo.com: Doesn't really cast a lonely feeling, but it does look nice. ===== From tim.nikias@gmx.de: Nice image. Has a sense of postcard feeling to it... ===== From rclee@oklahoma.net: I like the trees and snow, texture on the grass and logs could use some work. ===== From glenn@mccarters.net: Cute models. The lighting makes this look like a "small" scene -- the = shadows clearly show that the main light source is nearby. Interesting = that you seemed to put more effort into the single fungus-encrusted log = than the log cabin. ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: I'd be happy there, not lonely! :-) The tree on the left is very good. Mnay of the elements of the scene seem rigid, perhaps too simple CSG objects, also the ground's flateness... the scene looks like a Hollywood set in a way. ===== From p_chan@shaw.ca: The mushrooms and the log in the centre are modelled nicely, but there seem to be some artifacts around the red mushrooms, which i believe are due to JPEG compression. I like the positioning of the axe so that it is cutting into one of the logs, but it looks as if the bottom of the axe is going into the ground. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Some nice work here. All the objects look good, if a bit simplistic in some cases. The trees look nice, especially the coloration of the leaves on the left one. The background mountains don't seem to mesh that well with the rest of the scene. Smoke looks pretty good, but the container object is too clearly defined by the shape of the smoke. Pleasant-looking scene overall, though. ===== From clem@dhol.org: The idea is in the right place perhaps, but this looks more idyllic than lonely. The tight spiral smoke is unrealistic, but it fits the scene. I like it. The axe is more like an (inaccurate) stereotype battle axe than a woodcutting tool. The seasons seem a bit odd - mushrooms? green trees? turning trees? snow?
