It is said to be the form of a Piper who displeased a local witch and was turned to stone for his trouble. There is nothing in any direction for over a mile, and when the low cloud drifts in over the moor, then the Piper must be the loneliest rock on earth. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The short version: I messed around with the (new) isosurface object... The long version: The Rock itself is just a sphere function added to a multi-fractal noise function. The Grass is just a plane (where y=0) with a different noise function added in, that has been exaggerated in height. Add in some Fog and a shadowless light-source, and that's it.
