IMAGE DESCRIPTION: 

Sometimes our dreams become real when ve pursue them vigorously enough... and
sometimes only our imagination can turn our dreams into reality. On this
astronomers table, we see both ways.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: 

My goal with this image was to improve my skills with realistic textures and
objects. I think I succeeded with some objects, but not with all. On the other
hand my skills did improve, and the image turned all right considering my
current level of skill, so I guess I succeeded in what I tried to do.

Most of objects in this image are CSG, with the exception of the letter with the
bent corner, which is a bezier patch. The star in the middle consists of
several spheres that are all separately mapped with emissive media.

All materials except the ones in the letters and the photos are made with POV.
Actually, even the photos show scenes created with POV. The only things I added
to the textures with PSP was the writing and the stains.

That's about it... there aren't any fancy techniques in this image. I'm sorry
for not providing the source with this image, but it would require some
"tidying up", and since the deadline is in 10 hours and the time is 23:50, I
don't have the time. If someone wants the source, I'll gladly clean it up and
send it.
