Keeping imagery simple seems to fit the theme. Simple and peaceful. From start to finish it took two days to complete the basic scene. Some tweaking arrived at the final image. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Completely modeled in Moray. Started with the rockbed. The rocks are one blob randomly scaled, rotated and textured to create a stone "tile." The tile was used eight times in two layers to build the pond bottom. The water had a ripple normal applied so as one ripple pattern is present. A cherry blossom created with bezier patches is placed at the origin of the ripple pattern. The torii is simple sweeps and primitives. It is not very detailed since it will only be seen in reflection. The cherry tree was created in LParser with an extra leaf object added to create a fuller look to the tree. Imported as a UDO object into Moray. The leaves are textured white to simulate cherry blossoms. Again, the tree is not very detailed because it is only seen in reflection. The koi are bezier patches. I was only going to have one koi but when I test rendered the white/black koi I found that it came out solid white with the one black spot on the head. This inspired the creation of two koi with this texture to create an abstract yin/yang symbol with the fish.
