When it saw the wonderful blue light on my monitor it came towards curious what strange being this would be. but there romance had a short time to be. Filled with anger, rage and fury about the last hour I spent working (without saving) when this little scene happened I ended the lives of both bugs (while I think at least one will return). DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: As I saw the topic Insects and Spiders I really had no idea what to create. Maybe a spider devouring some kind of insect. At least this image would contain both an Insect and a Spider. But when I started to build a little bug out of some cylinders for the legs and spheres for the body I came up with the idea with the Blue-Screen. Since a Blue-Screen indicates the presence of a bug and a bug is an insect this would be on topic. So I began creating a keyboard beginning with one standard key out of meshes that was copied until I had a full numpad keyset. Adding special designed keys for Enter, Return, Shift Ctrl and the Space Bar I soon had my keyboard done. The keys are yet missing the labels but I haven't figured out an easy way to do it. (The Keyboard itself maybe wasn't created the most elegant way) The Monitor is a simple collection of meshes with a sphere for the glass front and the screenshot of a bluescreen right behind it. To make the Screen light I placed an lightsource behind it and gave the texture a transparent filter. To avoid projection of the screen on other objects such as the keyboard and walls that should be added later I made the light power falling of at a high rate and changed it to an area light-source. So I gain a soft blue projection at the monitor only. (To make the Screen fully vizible I placed a white screen with an high ambient value behind it and the light source.) Since the bug idea looked a little off-topic at this stage I decided to place my earlier created bug onto the screen and to name the image "Bugs in Love" so I have at least one real insect in my scene. The final steps were only to create a room, a desk and some items on it to make the scene not looking so empty. Besides to the monitor there are to other light sources in the room. One Area-Light inside the lamps light-bulb and another shadowless centered in the room for the ambient light.
