EMAIL: james@birkett.co.uk NAME: James Birkett TOPIC: Fortress COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. TITLE: The Tower COUNTRY: UK WEBPAGE: http://zebedee.dyndns.org/~birkett RENDERER USED: Pov-Ray 3.1 TOOLS USED: Some plasma fractal generator, I can't remember it's name. Sorry. It got deleted when I had to format my hard drive :-(, and The Gimp to convert to JPEG and add my copyright RENDER TIME: 7 mins 1 second HARDWARE USED: AMD Athalon 700MHZ IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Lucinda (the duck. Yes, she's a duck. Yes, I know she has no wings. Yes I know she has no feathers. She was one of the first CSG objects I ever created, and I've used her in several scenes.) has been captured, and imprisoned at the top of a tower made out of dice. No I don't know why. Maybe someone just doesn't like her :-) DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Lucinda is CSG. The dice are CSG, positioned with a macro. The landscape is a heightfield, made using said plasma fractal generator, and modified slightly with the Gimp. The water texture was based on one in a tutorial, modified quite a bit. The flowers are CSG. I wanted more, but I had to position them individually, as POVRay 3.1 doesn't seem to have a way to find out the height of a heightfield in a macro.
