TITLE: *THE FORT* NAME: Jeremy Bengtson COUNTRY: U.S.A EMAIL: ugachuka@incirlik.future.net.tr WEBPAGE: -------- TOPIC: Fortress COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETION COPYRIGHT JPGFILE: jbtree1.jpg RENDERER USED: Caligari Truespace 4.3 TOOLS USED: ArcSoft PhotoStudio 2.0, digital camera, Skill RENDER TIME: 30-35 min HARDWARE USED: Magic Video 3D-EP 8MB IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Its a treehouse or to be more precise a treefort. Built by about 5 6 to 8 year olds on a summer vacation. But during winter it gets abandoned in favor of warmer places (mom and dads house). So here it sits the lonely treefort empty untill the spring thaw that comes every year. Empty untill the children come back to play knights and dragon. Untill the girls decide to have another tea party just to get kicked out by the boys or to be thrown in the "dungeon" (underneath the tree) of the fort with the unlucky kid who is this time and always is the dragon. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: At first I didn't know what to make so I played around and finally came up with a treefort. For this pic I had to basicly build the whole thing from scratch. I made boards copied them, pasted them in to walls, individually textured them and soon the house was done. The only really hard part was the tree. I had to make that by hand too, and all of the organic modeling that was done hardly shows in the pic due to the angle of the camera that made the picture look good. All well It loosks good, and better than my last entry. After the tree was finished I went out to the nearest tree ans took photos of the bark and projected it to the tree model and also used it as a bump map for the bark. (*NOTE* I spelled my name wrong ,*sigh*, in the last round, in my hurry to get the picture out before dedline (its Bengtson not bebgtson, or befgtson or however I spelled it last time))
