TITLE: Television NAME: Peter Cracknell COUNTRY: UK EMAIL: pc@lineone.net WEBPAGE: http://www.petercracknell.com TOPIC: Worship COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. JPGFILE: televisi.jpg RENDERER USED: MegaPOV (6) TOOLS USED: Rhino (1.1), Photoshop (5.5) and Moray (3.3) HARDWARE USED: AMD TBird 900Mhz 256Mb RAM (133Mhz) IMAGE DESCRIPTION: I had many 'plans' for worship and I eventually cut them down to this one. The image shows what is gradually coming about of the television era with more and more people dedicating their spare time to their television. The image shows no association with the outside world as the viewer lives his/her own world. The 'viewer' lives on junk food and interests are tv/film orientated. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The image is a combination of Rhino and Moray work, with the television (plus cables), pizza box, posters and sofa being created (and exported) in Rhino to Moray using UDO's. The remainder of the scene was created directly in Moray with material maps used to 'fill' the scene. The posters were made by bending a plane in Rhino and applying images (borrowed from the Internet) in Moray. The sofa and television were made in Rhino, using various CSG style techniques and fillets for smooth edges. All sources are available on request but as Moray creates a ZIP archive using the exported meshes from Rhino it zips to 11.7mb, even though the initial rhino files are small.
