JPGFILE: nocturne.jpg ZIPFILE: nocturne.zip RENDERER USED: megaPOV6a TOOLS USED: psp, pose2pov, maketree RENDER TIME: ~10 min HARDWARE USED: Athlon 650 IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Image began from a picture in a recent issue of National Geographic. The picture showed cherry blossoms in Japan. I had been playing with Gilles Tran's Maketree macro and it gave me the idea of putting the camera in or under one of the trees and looking out though the branches. The image also combined an unusual camera angle looking steeply down onto a surface of water. The "Contrast" theme lead me to the attempt at moonlight. Then it became a chasing of mood. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The tree branches are from MakeTree. The macro is slightly adulterated to allow parameters to be changed at different recursion levels The far bank is blobs The sculpture is a poser figure coated in a thin layer of blobs by use of the trace() function Water is a plane with a surface normal and interior definition Moon is main lightsource. Branches have a camera lightsource. Sculpture has a stronger lightsource coincident with the moon's location.
