===== From digitalburn@totalise.co.uk: nice, although the water doesn't do justice to the birds... ===== From elvish_archer@mailcity.com: I think u must add reflection on the water and the shadow more on the water ===== From darwallace@earthlink.net: I'm going to have to figure out a way to get that variance in wings to work using my POV parametric surface macro. ===== From pbourke@swin.edu.au: Excellent for an entry on birds or animals. THe birds are great as is the motion blur. The sea is clearly secondary. ===== From luisvaloyes@malditasea.zzn.com: amazing birds, the texture and the motion effect are simply amazing, very good job! ===== From panthus@xtra.co.nz: The poses and blur effects are great, a random seed to alter the colour of each bird could have got even more variety. Beautiful wings. ===== From dvnss@mega.ist.utl.pt: Impressive, but exagerated! ===== From marlo.steed@uleth.ca: Nice image. Like the blur. The bird models are great! Perhaps having a shore line and fewer birds in the scene may have helped the artistic merit of the scene. ===== From douge@nls.net: The birds look good, and the flocking seems realistic. Good use of motion blur. High score for technical merit! ===== From tony@j4tb.com: That must have been a challenge to draw the feathers and all. Good variation in the birds. The image seems sort of simple perhaps an island in the background or maybee some jumping fish. ===== From whhale@nvl.army.mil: Very impressive. What did you use pose2pov for? ===== From bbowen@cswnet.com: Something about this one I really like. ===== From angelaperry@webcombo.net: The birds are _very_ well done. I'm impressed. I especially like the motion blur and the level of detail on the wings. ~A. Perry ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: Yeah man. That's really cool. Of course as you noticed yourself some of it looks like, well, synthetic rather than natural, but how to correct that, now you pin *me*. Maybe the sea is not quite what I would expect in reality, though it is rather convincing. Maybe the sky is too uniform. I'm not sure what to say about the flock and components, they sure look pretty good to me and I wish I can achieve that someday ... ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Very nice... the birds look excellent. The number of birds and their placement are probably realistic, but seem to overwhelm the eye when looking at this picture... its somewhat disorienting. ===== From sjlen@ndirect.co.uk: Quite a unique image. Good work. ===== From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au: Those are great birds. If the water had a little more work on it, and maybe some background interest like an island or boat, this would be perfect. ===== From went@netcourrier.com: This a really realistic scene ! ===== From delfeld@mailcity.com: Great "photo". Duchamp would have loved it. The re-creation of all movements of a bird's flight in one picture can be spread out over many birds, instead of showing only one. With large amounts of data available, ideas of motion are no longer constricted to one moving object, but each individual can lend a bit of motion to the motion of the whole. It limits the definition of the individual, since they are assinged a role of performing one motion, and need to be seen in that way to know the whole, but then Duchamp's dog also was a means to an end to show motion. I hope the birds don't mind!
