Most of what I render is landscapes, which didn't fit in too well with previous themes. I figured I ought to be able to do something for this one, though. When I read "Something untouched by man", the sci-fi geek in me kicked in and translated "Alien Planet". I'd been trying to figure out how to make floating islands for a while, anyways, so I tried to do something around that. Basically, I was looking for an image with a landscape that you wouldn't see at all on earth, with some sort of indication of life, yet still conveying bleakness and emptiness. I like the empty floating islands for that reason. It was too bleak with just them, though, which is why I added the birds-like thingies. Oh, and I like green, hence the sky (and everything else). DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Done completely in Povray. I made the islands by inverting a hieght-field below itself. Everything else is pretty much standard. The sky is a standard included skyfield, somewhat modified. I used basic shapes to put together the birds. I had to use some anti-aliasing so that the bird's wings, which are fairly thin, would show up right in the distance. That's also why I used the 1024x768 instead of 800x600 resolution.
