Last summer, before I visited New York for the first time, I read in a book
that you'd better not walk around there looking up to the buildings. Because if
you do you could just as well wear a shirt saying "I'm a distracted tourist,
Please rob me!"
But when I got there, the gigantically high buildings were so impressive that I
couldn't resist looking up while walking around there... Makes you lose all
sense of height.

The picture also has some hidden meaning about being trapped in the city,
looking at the birds (yes those are birds) who are free above it, but I'd
better not start about that...


DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: 


Well, actually this is the first image I created myself using povray. I only
re-rendered some of the previous winners of the IRTC. So it's all very basic
I'm afraid.
The buildings are endless repetitions of darkblue boxes with chrome boxes
inside them. The birds consist of a shamefully simpel combination of a circle 
with a disc. Luckily they are too small to notice this. The sun is a bright
yellow light pointed at the sky, and I added some smoke which is a simple
triangle with clouds on it...
