TITLE: Insignificant Contrast NAME: David Hummel COUNTRY: USA EMAIL: dhum@marianchs.com TOPIC: The city COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. JPGFILE: traingla.jpg RENDERER USED: Povray 3.1 G TOOLS USED: Some some old scripts. Moray 3.2 and Rhino for modeling. Corel photo-paint for imagemaps and jpg compression RENDER TIME: 22.3 hours HARDWARE USED: Pentium II 450 128mb ram IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Started as a project to make realistic randomness in textures to make them look real. Ended up as a display of the contrast of the past of cities to the new technology of the 21st century. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Each lamp was a true light source. I used many scripts to modify each object randomly. Each tile is different as is each lamp. I went to extreme detail with the textures. Rust stains, water marks. Everything significant in the scene was made from scratch. This is my first entry into IRTC...not to mention my first major accomplishment with povray. I do hope you like it. Now I think I'll enjoy the rest of my spring break.
