JPGFILE: monsters.jpg RENDERER USED: Blue Moon Rendering Tools 2.4 TOOLS USED: BMRT 2.4, Rib Tickler 0.6, MegaPOV 0.4, Paint Shop Pro 5. RENDER TIME: 1 hour, 56 minutes HARDWARE USED: PII 350, 128MB IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Godzilla in the city. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: A great part of the objects was created in POV-Ray and exported to Renderman with the #write directive. The rest of the objects was created writing the RIB code directly. Whit POV I have done: The godzilla monster, that is made of spheres, torus and CSG instead of blobs. I think that BMRT don't support blobs yet. The particles (spheres) and debris (polygons) of the explosions. The radioactive ray. And also was used to distribute the cars on the road and to generate the displacement map for the mountains in the background. In RIB I have done the buildings (patches), the cars (more patches), explosions (spheres), the street and all the rest. All the details of the buildings, like the windows, are made with displacement shaders. To place the buildings (about 300) I have created a little program that distribute them with different parameters. For this image I have created 35 shaders: 1 volume shader, a ground fog. 11 displacement shaders, for the monster, the buildings. 21 surface shaders. 2 light shaders. I used Rib Tickler to create and edit the Rib files and to create, compile and test the shaders. The final render was done with BMRT 2.4 because version 2.5 don't work well on my system. No image maps used in this image. With Paint Shop Pro I added the name and made the jpg.
