===== From ekaiser@camden.tds.net: I like it ===== From trioker@wanadoo.fr: Great job ! ===== From whhale@nvl.army.mil: I think the best thing about this picture is that you included the footprints leading to the ruins. Good job. ===== From agage@csee.usf.edu: Excellent, all around. The plants, stone, sand, and overall composition are all superb. Reminiscent of the winner of the "Great Engineering Achievements" round. ===== From klynn@uswest.net: Great use of POV heightfields! (And congratulations on getting rid of windoze!) ===== From marlo.steed@uleth.ca: Nice image... the sand almost looks real. ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: One of the best submissions, as usual from Jaime. But I will put your submission equal to Bob Franke's old barn. Yes I do not really know how to compare but I feel his interpretation of the theme is a tidbit more original where your submission is a tidbit more artistic, both ranking high in the tech note. Yes, I love your sand rendition and the bushes. The colours and the light are just it. ===== From jouni@mikrobitti.fi: Ok Jaime, you've preserved your style even if you're right in saying the image isn't that ambitious this time. Good heightfield usage in the rock walls, they're neat. I have to wonder, though, what are the track-like prints in the mid-left section of the image? Caterpillars at work? ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Very nice rendition of an ancient tomb... realistic use of color. Felicitaciones. Marjorie. ===== From deathmacabre@fcmail.com: that's some height field around the edge i mistook it for a picture ===== From clem@dhol.org: An excellent example of what I call high level minimalism. Little color variety, low object count ... but everything there belongs there and is well detailed and the image tells the story and does not seem hurried or unfinished. I particularly like the wind sculpted sand. ===== From sjlen@ndirect.co.uk: Strange, when I first saw this I thought of the entrance to El Miguilete (sp?), and it turns out that the image was created by someone in Valencia. It looks nothing like it really, maybe it's the lighting, maybe it's the colours, I don't know. Great image, I havn't used height feilds much myself, but have seen them used to great effect particularly in this round of the competition. ===== From file: That's fun! It's time to call Indiana Jones... Notable for modelling, originality ===== From file: Notable for textures
