TITLE: Zen Water garden of Omacron IV COUNTRY: USA WEBPAGE: http://www.xenoarch.com RENDERER USED: megapov 0.1 (with iso dlls personally added back in) TOOLS USED: none. RENDER TIME: 9 hours 28 mines 32 secs HARDWARE USED: Pentium Pro 180 IMAGE DESCRIPTION: A distant planet with a Zen garden showing we are not alone, we just don't interact... Yet DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The rocks are noisy iso spheres with a granite function for some texture. The water is another iso surface using the same functions of the rocks to help produce the distorted waves the pool side uses a crackle function (megapov's normal fix made it look right as aposed to superpatch whence i started development on this scene on) the landscape is a hieghtfield using Kenton Musgraves ridged multifractal i implemented in an iso dll (The i_fract that was with superpatch made it difcult to have multiple fractals in one scene and be fast) I'm still trying to figure out how to bound it automatically between 0 and 1 and once i do i'll make a new pattern. The plantary rings is a disc with a color_map and between the set entries I change the gamma of theblended values ie pow(c1.red*rat+c2.red*(1-rat),0.8). The moon is the moon from my tutorial "How to make a moon" with higher values for the Mare height. each bird in the flock are 4 spheres.. one for the head, one for the body and one each for the wings. The wings are randomly rotated to have a flapping shape distortion. I tried to add media clouds but it never looked right for a sunset type, I had created a macro that did really good fast clouds (using a singular plane) but i lost the code, never been able to replicate it correctly since.
