TITLE: I dreamt of yet another white Christmas COUNTRY: UK WEBPAGE: None yet RENDERER USED: Bryce 4 TOOLS USED: PSP 4 (for Texture maps) RENDER TIME: 2 hours 2 minutes HARDWARE USED: Celeron-300 IMAGE DESCRIPTION: I love Christmas, and I love snow, always have and always will. I created this, although in a sort time :( to bring the image of a white Christmas to hearts of those who were once again unfortunate enough not to have a white Christmas (myself included) DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Disclaimer - If I ramble, Whoops :) Fence Started with the fence, essentially a stretched cube with a modified floor board texture. the posts in the fence again stretched cubes, with a pitted cement texture, tried to tone down the bump height. the snow on the fence I used a rounded cube and applied a simple white texture with a slightly rocky bump. Ground I started with a almost flat ground which textured again with the snow texture. to produce the foot prints and snow man roll trail I created the shape need and used them as positive and negative Booleans, to give the grass beneath the snow, create a fine spike landscape and simply placed it above the Boolean level, but below the snow. Snowman Hat, is two cylinders sized with a few fade grey scale line black texture. Nose, a cone texture with a rock texture, ambient colour changed to orange. Arms, couple of stretched cylinders with stretched cones, brown bumpy texture. Buttons, eyes and mouth 1 Symmetrical lattice rotated around a bit her and there to give it a bit of variety. snow on hat rounded edge cylinders, same sizes as hat with snow texture. Body, Uhm 3 Spheres appropriately placed and the snowy texture. Birdy bath Positive and negative Boolean from spheres to make the top part, copied and raised a bit, applied snow texture to give the settled snow look. Base, one cylinder positive with smaller negative cylinders around it to give that roman look. a patchy brown texture applied to make it look like stone. Bushes Only one created, rotated and resized to give variety, lattice for branches, and spheres used for leaves, the texture applied to spheres uses a alpha channel to allow transparent sections, used a patchy green texture. once again to produce the settled snow effect copied the bush raised it a bit, changed the existing texture to be dominantly white and that is what happens. Christmas tree. used inverted Booleans, from spheres with a alpha channel transparent texture for pine leaves, cone used for the bark, same settle snow trick applied. Background trees, Only one tree varied position and sizes, part of the Bryce library, used settle snow effect again. The snowy mounds around the birdy bath and Christmas tree, bump exaggerated snow texture on lattice shape dome.
