===== From cdsi26@bupers.navy.mil: You got very detailed with this one. My only gripe...Mushroom Clouds do not expand equally. I know, you are probably saying, "You Try it!!!" I have and still do not get it right. Very realistic and a lot of details. Nice Job. ===== From daffyduckx@hotmail.com: Despite their imminent doom, these are nicely rendered buildings. They are detailed and realistic with nice texturing. ===== From ameede@madmac.com: Your bracketing of the scene is excellent, the placement of the elements were laid in such a manner as to force the viewers attention to the blast. I can appreciate the theme you have chosen considering where you are currently living. I believe that art needs to reflect the cultural aspects that make up the artist. This you have done well with. Your right about the boy figure, perhaps if you did have more time, he would have come out better. Another aspect to consider is the static nature of the figure, a better pose might have been entertained by you. Also, consider bending the antennae on the building, leaves blowing off the tree, something that would suggest the unseen winds that eminate from such an explosion. ameede@madmac.com ===== From mark_poole2000@yahoo.com: Might have had more impact if the far edge of the building was feeling some of the destructive force of the blast (tiles and other debris being blown towards us). Also if the light from the explosion was the brightest thing, causing shadows from the lamp and other objects to come toward the viewer. It just looks too static for a huge explosion. The blast isself looks good, as do the buildings. ===== From jrcsurvey@aol.com: It is the innocent details that make it so horrible ===== From dlauer@optonline.net: Nice Idea, but the proportion seem off. Everything seams very stiff and linear. ===== From dwallace@lynx.dac.neu.edu: A few cars, a traffic light/stop sign would make the scene more complete. ===== From mmdoogie@ardmore.net: Houses and cityscape are very realistic! Great Explosion!! ===== From tina@ripco.com: Conceptually this is good. But given the closeness of the explosion, the rest of the scene is far too peaceful. ===== From ericf@foothill.net: A very real horror seen through the eyes of a child, this is a very strong image. The cloud is well done, difficult to do well. The only quibble I have is in the buildings. They don't feel real to me, not sure why. Too clean, I think. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Really good modelling on the buildings. This is instantly recognizable as contemporary European street scene. You might want to be a little more descriptive in your "image description". It is not totally clear to me whether I am viewing a nearby explosion just behind the building (such as a gas explosion or a tanker truck) or a much more distant nuclear detonation. Good tree and media work. I found your comment "if I had more time..." funny. You had twelve months! How much time do you need? ===== From mark.wagner17@gte.net: The explosion looks too close for the apparent size of the explosion. ===== From sjlen@ndirect.co.uk: Hmmm. Who needs Poser? Fantastic image, it really tells a story. Really good textures, good media, and that verge with the stones and grass is excellent. Suggested improvements: the top portion of the explosion could be less rounded and should have some turbulenceso that it isn't objious what's containing the media, the teddy bear could have some fur on him, maybe the reflection of a blue light in the shop window to signify that the fire engine is almos here or even the reflection of a fire engine in the shop window. Really good work, hope to see some more of this quality in the future. ===== From file: WOW, MAN, YOU ARE GREAT!!! I MEAN, LOOK AT THAT MUSHROOM! ITS EXPLANDING THROUGH TH EMONITOR!!! AMAZING! Notable for originality, composition, textures, lighting, modelling
