===== From uwezi@geocities.com: I like this best of all three "planet of apes" submissions ===== From scarmig@ohmss.com: I like the wide view and the moody looking sky. You did a good job portraying the emotion of the scene. ===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: I just watched the end of the movie and rushed to my computer to check your image. It is a pretty very good reproduction of the movie scene. My only concern is the crossing lines in the rocks on the left. This is one of the best Bryce images I have seen. ===== From rbenjam2@tampabay.rr.com: I think a different vantage point for the camera might have worked better for this image. The texture on the rocks looks a little too regular, as well. I like the theme, though. ===== From Adrian.R.White@usa.net: A pleasing and very well executed rendering of this immediatly recognisable image for those of the right age but as the artist says themself, the originality lies with the creator of the "The Planet of The Apes". ===== From sammy@cube.net: The best of the Planet Of The Ape pics, as itis extremely reminiscent of the movie. ===== From archangel@wxs.nl: Well... I think the statue of liberty isn't original.. I have seen about 1 third of all images, and I've seen 3 scenes from planet of the apes. ===== From tglover@nettally.com: Nice executioon of the subject -- I exspecially like the rock texture on the left with cross-sutting fractures -- nice! Human figures are always a challange -- your use of them in the midground works well. Did you consider lighting so that Liberty's face was better lit? ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: Nice. But there something missing I'm not able to point out. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Fine image. Well done landscaping. ===== From mark.wagner17@gte.net: Yet another Statue of Liberty inspired by "Planet of the Apes". ===== From clem@dhol.com: Good rock and sand. Creating an image with such a vertical thrust and squeezing it into such a narrow strip makes no sense at all. The statue needs to be closer to the foreground and/or better lit. Too much detail is lost. The people and horse are pretty good. A thing that bothers me about all of these images is that the statue couldn't possibly survive the kind of tectonic and other activity needed to transform the island so radically. ===== From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au: Another good take on this scene. This one seems to best portray that moment of realisation and is a very nicely balanced image. It looks like a shot from a movie - rocks, sky, sand, figures are all excellent. Well done. ===== From peter@table76.demon.co.uk: This seems to be the closest to the film of any of the Apes entries. ===== From file: Nice rocks. Notable for textures, composition
