===== From uwezi@geocities.com: I love sunsets, I like lighthouses, the perspective is great, but please turn on the light in the lighthouse! ===== From scarmig@ohmss.com: The wake is so natural I almost didn't notice it. Very well done! Beautiful sky! ===== From jake@snafu.de: Cool sky colours. ===== From thedewitts@earthlink.net: Great sky and ocean, good lighthouse, really good overall visual effect. ===== From jabeck@bellsouth.net: The water looks a little like sand in the foreground. Have you experimented with hightfields, or bump mapping and a plane for the same effect? Really nice mood in this picture. ===== From rbenjam2@tampabay.rr.com: I really like the colors but I think the image is a bit too dark. A light coming from the lighthouse and hitting the boat or passing over it might have added some drama and interest. ===== From curtis_cooper@hotmail.com: If it's a sunset why is the top of the picture blue? Otherwise a very very nice sky. ===== From sammy@cube.net: Yeah ... Lighthouse ;) Anyway...very atmospheric picture, but the water doesn't work well when too near to the camera. Also : The sky should be lighter the nearer it gets to the sun, not the other way around. ===== From archangel@wxs.nl: Man, what a beauty! With a little reflection the water would be perfect! but this one is real good!... ===== From tglover@nettally.com: Cool pic! Nice sky, NICE water. Sunset is perfect! Lose the wake - it's distracting and somehow doesn't work -- no foam? It also disturbs the serenity. ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: The water looks too yellow, looks much like sand really. Other than that pretty good. I'll go and check blender some day. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Well, isn't it getting dark enough for Old Barney to light up? Fine sky. Nice placid scene. Awfully big wake behind the slow-moving boat. ===== From martialrameaux@multimania.com: I'm always surprised for the number of different rendering software, I like Pov-my-love, but your mastering for Blender are stupendous; Very nice image ! :-) Martial ===== From joergnick@aol.com: I like the atmosphere that this picture has. ===== From clem@dhol.com: Nice waves. The sun looks all but burnt out and the color and brightness are much too bleak and depressing. The sky seems very defocussed. These two factors remove most of the detail that makes most images interesting. Why model fascinating objects like the bat if they are just going to end up as downplayed silhouettes? ===== From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au: Beautiful sunset, though I'm not sure how the lowest band along the horizon can be so dark with the clouds lit up so brightly above it. The water was worth it... looks fantastic. ===== From file: Very well done. One of the most realistic sunsets i've seen. and great water Notable for composition, lighting ===== From file: Notable for originality, composition, textures, lighting ===== From file: foreground boat & wake look a bit rushed, but excellent overall quality Notable for lighting ===== From file: You came *this* close to really nailing a very difficult scene. I can't tell you what it needs to get the last bit of realism, although I think some *slightly* brighter highlights on the waves, and a more severe (darker, and with higher spatial frequency) wake behind the moving boat would help. Notable for originality, modelling, lighting
