JPGFILE: delight.jpg RENDERER USED: POV Ray 3.1 TOOLS USED: POV Ray, Moray, Paint Shop Pro RENDER TIME: 2.5 days HARDWARE USED: PII 333, 128 MB RAM IMAGE DESCRIPTION: At the end of a long day at sea, a lighthouse appears before a setting sun, safely pointing the way home. What better landmark than a lighthouse? DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Heightfields, heighfields, heightfields, and some CSG for the lighthouse itself. I was aiming for an impressionistic rendering of the scene, as opposed to a realistic one. I wanted to capture the digital version of swabs of paint and bright color that portray a feeling, rather than an realistic object or viewpoint; thus there are some noted inconsistancies in the art. Paint Shop Pro was used to created the greyscale source tiffs for the heightfields used in the water and clouds and rocks and for JPG conversion. Source code lost in a subsequent drive crash (again) but I fortunately had already uploaded it to my web site. I have a source backup, it's just inconvienient to get to, but if anybody want's just drop me an email.
