===== From sshaw@fas.harvard.edu: Thank you for the detailed text file. Though clearly an impressive machine, I would not have appreciated the "unbelievable" qualities of this engine without the description. ===== From brendthess@aol.com: *Very* nice steam engine. The steam/smoke looks to coarse. ===== From nijman@nmtrix.com: Nice detail, well modelled, could improve on the lightning. ===== From gregj56590@aol.com: Near tops artistic and technical score; has nothing to do with theme. ===== From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au: Fantastic train... geez, the CSG must have taken ages. Nice texturing and details. The only thing is it doesn't seem immediately connected to the topic and I'm still dubious after reading the text file. ===== From johnson@pharmacy.arizona.edu: Stunning bit of modelling! ===== From somers@w-link.net: Not really unbelievable...... ===== From mriser@datacomm.ch: The locomotive is very detailed. Great work! The sky is looking somewhat unreal. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: I've seen this behemoth in person, and you've captured its mammoth presence. Incredible detail. Seems more "believable" than "unbelievable", however. Yup, the steam looks like a geyser. "Safety" sign is much too bright and distracting. Wooden blue person needs a better pose, perhaps climbing aboard or looking underneath. Excellent job. I'm fascinated by the detail of the rail/turntable as well. ===== From clem@dhol.com: As usual, very good modelling and research. I don't particularly care for the bleak sky. The rusty tracks are outstanding. In my youth, I visited Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village whenever I could scrape up the price of admission. Fortunately, they were within easy walk or bicycle distance. The Village itself would have been an excellent subject for this round. The idea of a man buying up historic buildings from many places and building a little town outside of time, where you can see the Wright Brothers bicycle shop spitting distance from Edison's lab. is as unbelievable as it gets. Back to the subject, your texturing is getting to be very good indeed. I was concerned about the fragile home heating duct appearance of the pipes until I saw in the text file that it was supposed to be sheet metal. ===== From sdevet@istar.ca: Wonderful image, and it deserves to win. Deserves to win the "Great Engineering Achievements" round, that is. It's hard to rank this pic, as it easily one of the most beautiful pics in the competition, but I think that the connection to "Unbelievable" is poor at best. Shame, since I really like it! ===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: The master of steam equipment strikes again. I think this is your best one, the detail and use of textures is great. I especially like the detail in the foreground tracks and ties. Great image Dave. ===== From peter@table76.demon.co.uk: I think it would have fitted the topic better if you'd set it in the museum room with the other exhibits. (Since your description started that way.) ===== From file: Very nice modelling here. A lot of work, I can see. ===== From file: Very nice modeling.
