I used to be a darkroom technician, but even so still can’t say why landscapes look better in black and white than they do in colour....they just DO, I guess.  This was a simple Bryce image, which in colour was merely average.  Using PaintshopPro I made it into a grey scale image, added grain and boosted the contrast.  Instant art; it fools everyone.
