===== From sammy@cube.net: Actually, after reading the description on how you made the picture, I began to really like it. The problem is the way you did the water and the sky. The water is definitely TOO reflective, and the waves are too soft. Had I not read the description, I probably wouldn't have realized that it was meant to be a fluid at all. :\ You also need to get hold of a 'good' sky. Using some kind of fog might be helpfull, although this may get in the way of the gate :\ ===== From denny1@home.com: I like the pockmarks on the front-most column, they add a note of imperfection to the model. The water texture looks more like a pool of mercury, it is so reflective. I'd expect to be able to see a ghost of the bottoms of the columns rising from the water, but I see 100% reflection. ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: I like the interpretation and the greek columns. To make the columns nicer again, try not to use the exact same texture on the different repeated blocks. Please use translate a bit more in the texture section. The portal and the water look a bit simple, maybe the water would have been better with a height field in the close up regions, looks too flat. ===== From shipbrk@gate.net: Nice effect with the hole in the "sky-plate". The columns are excellent, the segments look very realistic. ===== From rguillard@claranet.fr: A scene inside the scene... a strange gate, on a strange planet, that leads to another stange world. What i like is the construction of the scene.Only little critic is that the left side of the pic looks a bit to empty, i think that something in the background would have been a good counterpart to the column but it's still good art work. ===== From houston.graphics@iname.com: I like the columns and the reflections in the water, the black/white contrast on the planet looks a bit harsh ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: Good concept. ===== From gshaw@monotix.co.za: Water and sky need work. Planetary scene looks very nice. I like the greenary on the bottom part of the arch ===== From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au: Coool idea, and well rendered. The red and white marbles look like stock POV textures, and the planet could use some more detailed texturing. Shapes are interesting, and I like the staggered columns. Normal textures would help you a lot here I think. ===== From jull43@ij.net: playing with OPMs. (Other people's Models)
