News has come to King Tarrock, that the band of raiders has set up it's base camp to the south of Tralen's Pass in Greggor Cavern. Last evening, Tarrock ordered the Head of the Guard, Sir Thomes, gather 100 of the best soldiers and prepare for a counter attack planed to rid the land of the band of thieves. As with all missions of battle and blood shed, King Tarrock will lead the attack. Tarrock, in the small hours of the morning, has stolen away to the castles small chapel. Here he is found praying for forgiveness of the deaths that he and his men are about to execute. God's divine light has answered... This is Tarrock's First Encounter with the Holy Trinity. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Simplicity is the goal, Textures are the key. I used 3D Studio MAX to create the everything except the King and the Crucifix (Poser). The cape and loin cloth were Patch-Modled 'free form' in 3D Studio Max as well. The pillars are simple cylenders with a custom texture. By rendering 10 unit cylenders, from the front view, in black and white, I created a 'bump map' for the 'gruves' of the pillars. The walls are created from a texture from www.serious3d.com called concretwall.jpg. It's a great texture! The lighting effect is a combination of 'multiple' spotlights with volume fog. Over 6 different light sources for the 'divine light' alone. The Stain Glass, is from a sample CD-ROM I have with pic's on it. The plaque actually has rendered text on it. Textures are used, of course, but not to make the text on plaque. All parts are maintained in seperate files so that modifications can be made easily and tracked accordingly. The sword is based on a sword that I found in a local mall. I got a brocure from the knife store and used it's picture of a sword for the basis of mine. I wanted something simple as this sword is for battle not for show.
