EMAIL: bucci@worldy.com NAME: Marco Bucci a.k.a. Spoonman TOPIC: Water COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. TITLE: Seascape COUNTRY: Canada WEBPAGE: http://www.worldy.com/~bucci/truespac.htm RENDERER USED: trueSpace 3.2 Gold Edition TOOLS USED: trueSpace 3.2, my camera and a CD for textures, Rockgen. RENDER TIME: about 4 hours HARDWARE USED: Pentium II 300 mHz. 256 MB SD RAM. IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Well, this image deptics a seascape horizon. You are in a strange earth-like world. Straight ahead you see a strange object with a ladder leading to the top. What could this be used for? Electricity? Residence? You never know...(unless you're me) DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Well, everything you see was modelled in ts3 by me. Textures are either scanned from a photograph or taken from a textures CD I have. (the water is a plain colour with a shader applied to simulate real water characteristics.) Rockgen was used to create the rocks which you see jutting out of the water in the distance. I then brought the rock object(s) into trueSpace and performed a smooth quad divide to make them smooth (textures were also applied inside ts.) Now, the highlight of this scene: The mist rising from the water. I used a bit of trickery here. I'm not sure if I want to reveal my secrets though...if anybody wants to know, please e-mail me privately. It took me a lot of time and work to get it looking real. Sorry for any inconveneice. (or however you spell that word.) Last but not least, the slight focal blur was acheved through one of trueSpace's many rendering features.
