EMAIL: bcooper761@aol.com NAME: Paul Vaughan TOPIC: Water COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. TITLE: Atlantis, Last Day COUNTRY: USA RENDERER USED: Povray 3.0 (The last version to use "halo") DOS version in window under Win95 on 386DX/33 :) TOOLS USED: Paint Shop Pro to draw background volcano and to convert to jpeg / Gforge for island height_field RENDER TIME: 7 Days, 4 hours on friend's 486/66 HARDWARE USED: 386/33 for workup 486/66 for final render IMAGE DESCRIPTION: The Atlantians flee as their beloved homeland goes up (down?) in volcanic splendor. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Lava induced ocean steam and volcanic cloud ... halo. Foreground peninsula ... height_field using Gforge. Background volcano ... paper thin "cardboard prop" from quick draw of a volcano in PSP. Hot Air Balloons & Ships ... mesh objects from stock. Sky ... straight out of sky.inc. Temple ... a whole lot of CSGing. That shadow on the ocean was not planned ... it's coming from the halo container for the volcano cloud and I couldn't figure out any way to get rid of it.
