===== From scooby@pld.com: Very nice image. Good, solid work. ===== From Sean_Hamilton@amrcorp.com: "the poor person standing on the walkway taking the picture is about to meet his demise". Waitaminute, that's me! Maybe it should be renamed "Death by Mercury". Good idea for theme, and a good looking machine too! ===== From gregj56590@aol.com: Neat drawing, but where is the machine actually used--in the commission of war crimes? ===== From nx@chez.com: Nice modelling-without-a-modeller (how many tests to organize everything ?). I particulary like some textures (mercury, height-fields, copper). You did'nt explain how you managed the motion blur effect (cylinders ?)... ===== From gmol@my-dejanews.com: Very nice and creative...just what would sucha machine be used for, painting rooms perhaps :-)? ===== From skywise@fix.net: I can't think of a real use for such a machine... But that makes it all the better! :) ===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: I like the rock walls, it looks like a room carved out of a cave. Also the motion blur on the flying mercury works very well. Keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to your next entry. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Yes, this sure is a bizarre machine. Great grate and railing. Lots of good details like the rock texture, green tanks, and overhead pipes. Strange, but convincing. Quite a good image, technically. Almost looks like a scene from "Riven". ===== From djconnel@flash.net: Wow -- a nice improvement over what was already an accomplished version posted to news://povray.binaries.images !!! This is one of the most bizarre "realistic" renderings I have ever seen..... very nice! The motion blur is a very nice touch. ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: good sense of motion ===== From wozzeck@club-internet.fr: As a first try, that's a good one! Technically, I hardly see anything to say, except that the mercury pool is not obvious, maybe somehting less reflective and with more ambient... A small thing is that while the bottom of the rock is covered with mercury, the yellow bottles and the ramp are not. Minor, would I say! ===== From 101741.541@compuserve.com: Interesting idea; I can't understand tough WHY mercury is projected trough the room. I like very much the path, especially the grate; but I can't see any element that holds the path over mercury... Some of the yellow textures would need to be attenuated.
