JPGFILE: arson.jpg RENDERER USED: Pov-ray 3.0 TOOLS USED: Rhino, Paint Shop Pro, Moray RENDER TIME: 4 Hours 44 Minutes 52 Seconds HARDWARE USED: Pentium 120Mhz IMAGE DESCRIPTION: One of the elements is fire. This scene depicts a scerio that has the potential for a great deal of fire.Because of the file size converting Rhino to POV-ray I have included the Rhino file and image maps only in the included zip file. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The main elements of the scene were modelled using the beta release of Rhino. The elements were then imported into Moray to have textures asigned and lights added. The image maps were all created using Paint Shop Pro. The paint can label was created with the help of a picture from the net of a paint can. I found creating fire, and controlling it the way you want is most difficult. I overcame this the best way I could by creating the flames in PSP and assigning varing transparent levels to the different color indexes. I then placed this image map on a flame shape created in Rhino. I turned up the ambient value of the flame texture and place two colored area lights, set very dim, just in front of the flames. The scene is rendered with a ground fog, elevated at about the top of the gas can.
