===== From Revera@concentric.net: Nice lantern.. much better then my attempt.. especially the flame!.... The wood grain on the table could use some work. all in all a GREAT job! G H REVERA .. I like the christian theme. ===== From ewgr@abaddon.globalnet.co.uk: Excellent image but don't preach please or I'll be subtracting marks. ===== From agage@mines.edu: Interesting imagery. The flames on the candles and lantern are well done, though the fact that they do not interact with the atmosphere is obvious. Personally, I would have left the atmospheric interaction on, but that's just because I don't think my images are worth the effort if they don't take a full week to render :) ===== From gregj56590@aol.com: "Hope I didn't offend" comment distracts from witness. If you mean to witness, offend away! Scene doesn't quite lend itself to passage chosen. ===== From jaime@ctav.es: Hmmm... ofended? Not really, but I don't like symbolic raytracings, sorry. In the other hand, the image has some very nice details and it's really well done, but it's more about LIGHT than about NIGHT, IMHO. Good Luck! ===== From Martin.Magnusson.7121@student.uu.se: Very well donw, especially the candles! ===== From sanna@censa3.polito.it: An execellent use of illumination ===== From dormammu@erols.com: I like your originality, and the picture looks good. Definately one of the top 3 pictures. ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: Excellent lattern, very realistic. Nice symbolism. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: A high-quality image, but it somehow doesn't say "Night" to me. It says "Light". ===== From djconnel@flash.net: Nice modeling! The composition is also quite good, and the theme a nice interpretation of the "night" idea. The light sources are all quite well done, as well.... the variation in the flame types is a good detail. One issue is the fraction of the image taken by pure black is a bit large, although it does provide the perspective to indicate the "heavenly" nature of the sky light. ===== From cfusner@enter.net: I feel religion is a perfectly valid element for artistic expression --- some of the masterpieces and true classics of the ages have been made by architects and artists working in service to their faith. The connection to theme is only tangential here, though, as in light being opposed to the dark of night, but a good work just the same. ===== From r@client836b.globalnet.co.uk: Notable for composition, lighting ===== From r@dial-up30.webbernet.net: The modeling is good and the use of light is very good. Nonetheless, this is off topic religious propaganda. This sort of thing belongs on your home page. Putting it into an international and multicultural forum like the IRTC risks not only offending many people, but causing the IRTC to politicize and degenerate into a propaganda competition. Note that quoting the bible does not make it on topic. You can pull a quote out of context to represent almost anything from any large piece of text. Ayn Rand. Shakespeare. The Marquis de Sade. Karl Marx. Dissociated Press output. The dodge does *not* work. This comment by clem@dhol.com.
