JPGFILE: moontree.jpg ZIPFILE: moontree.zip RENDERER USED: Truespace TOOLS USED: Photoshop 3, Universe RENDER TIME: 15 min HARDWARE USED: Dell P166 - 48 MB Ram IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Creepy night kind of thing DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: I made all objects in Truespace. Trees and fence were prepared with extrusions, deformations and booleans. The fog is a deformed planed, that I textured with a combination of a white .jpg, combined with a transparency map, using the texture editor within Truespace. I also applied a blurr filter, that can be accessed directly from TS. The moon is a disk with textured with a photo I downloaded from the web. There is a nice trick there: the main light (the one that produces the shadows), is a shade of blue. But using this light was turning the moon blue, too. So I added a Material Rectangle, that was yellow, and almost transparent. That allowed the original texture to be seen, but with a different tint. I rendered the TGA file, and then converted to JPG in Photoshop. I think I will try to improvr on this one, mainly with the light settings (it has 10 lights already!), and some better fog. Moontree.zip contains the SCN file from TS.
